Just a small portrait pack that I made. Not immersion friendly, though a bit of work has been done to limit how bad it can get.

Good work!   Some nice new portraits there.

Tiny update: Fixed the background on one of these portraits.
Those that don’t want to redownload the entire folder, just save the linked image, rename it to app_102.png, and replace the original file in Another Portrait Packgraphicsportraits.

Where do I place the json and version files?

Where do I place the json and version files?

You don’t need to do anything with them. Those are there for the launcher’s mod menu and Version Checker compatibility, respectively.

Really? When I start up the game it gives me an error message saying Fatal: JSONObject[“id”] not found.

Unfortunately, I’m not well versed in fixing these kinds of errors, so I’m not sure what to tell you. Just did a clean install with no other mods enabled and the game ran fine.
Do you have any other mods enabled? Have you tried redownloading and reinstalling? Remember when you update mods, you have to delete the old folder entirely first, you can’t just paste the new one over it.

I feel like a dummy. It’s fine now.

is it possible to use 2 or more portrait packs at the same time?

Yes, I have four running but there is some overlap as at least two of them have the same portraits in them, because of that for myself I’m merging them to prevent the overlap.  But I’m new to the modding side for starsector so I don’t know how exactly the game handles loading the different packs but I do know that the images do load in for the factions and for you to choose from at character creation.  As long as the portrait packs have the appropriate faction files made.
