[Starsector Mods][0.9.5a] Player Faction Flag Pack Extended

In essence it’s the previous Player Faction Flag Pack but in a broken down build-your-own-pack style.

There’s over unique 2,000 flags/crests to pick from as they are all real flags from every nook and cranny of Japan.

Basic instructions (Or follow the README):

  • Download the zip file and install it
  • Download the flags/crests of your choice into mod graphics
  • Edit player.faction in mod data

  • Not all flags are added as there’s a couple hundred that need retouching/redrawing.
  • If you notice some flags/crests are dodgy, lemme know and I’ll fix em (eventually).
  • Some flags with texts and location names have been edited to make them more generic.
  • Feel free to remove the flags/crests already included cause they’re just placeholders.

Maybe (?) If not you can use G.I.M.P or any other free image editor and override the image with Flag of your choice.

If anyone’s interested in adding all the flags at once, I’ve made a small python script that does all the steps described in the readme for you.

It will move all the pictures into a folder called “custom” (you’ll need to merge it with graphics/factions/custom/) and create “jsonified logos.txt” that has all the syntax ready to copy-paste into player.faction.

I’ve kept it in .py format so you can read it if you want :p

It also turns out “Plain flag” folder has a few duplicates, I’ve accounted for it in the script in a pretty spaghetti way, but hey, it works.

I’d hate to bother, but could you offer this download up on another place, such as dropbox or some other little sharing service, instead of google drive? I’m having issues with it for seemingly downloading any of the files in your shared drive link. Please and thank you!
